Our greatest need is always for monetary donations, which go directly to the home in India. In order to continue our work and expand our reach, we require the support of local donors. Though we don't usually collect monetary donations earmarked for specific items, here's an idea of what we're doing with the money we collect:
- $220 covers private school tuition for one year for one of our residential kids
- $65 will pay for one cataract surgery, including all testing and follow-up medication, restoring sight to someone who was nearly blind
- $15 allows us to buy school supplies for one child for a year
- $10 buys a pair of glasses
- $5 pays for meals for a month for one of the education outreach kids
- $2 is all it costs for a course of antibiotics that will treat many potentially life-threatening childhood diseases
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit in the US, so your donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes. Please consider donating!
We are currently working to raise funds for a permanent house, as we have outgrown the rented apartment in which we are currently living. As we are working under a tight deadline (our landlord is planning to sell our flat by this fall/winter - and we are not interested in buying it, because it is too small for our long-term plans), we are extremely appreciative of contributions that we can put toward our permanent house. Donate Material Goods
We collect used and new material donations (clothes, books, toys, etc) at our branches. Please see our latest wishlist and clothes donation guidelines for the items we are currently collecting. We send these items to the home on a regular basis when directors and volunteers fly over.
